My heart aches with quiet desperation
My eyes weep as I search for you always
My skin parched without your touch
My breath trapped waiting for another breath with you.
Come to me now my Divine love!
Do you not know my suffering without you?
Yet my suffering is sweet and satisfying
For I feel a deep longing in my heart for you.
Since the day I beheld you
I have not been content without you
If I must wait until the end of time
Then patiently, I will wait for you Forever.
Written during a period I would call “A Dark Night of the Soul”. I could no longer feel Love in my heart or the presence of God. I was simply devoid of all feeling. A walking zombie. Empty. Some would say an empty vessel is a blessed place to be. For me, it felt like a curse.
